Couplets of
Jamiluddin Aali
I
had set my sights On the distant horizon, But on the way I
found your door.
Only I share The lamp's anguish ; Other moths love Only the
light.
Listen my child, Learn the style of the storm: Help raise the
lowly plants, But fell towering trees.
If you are all true saints, Then I am a saint as well: A poor
lonely sinner like me Can't remain ashamed forever.
Islands of memories Rose from the sea of life. Scattered on
these islands are Pebbles, pearls and diamonds.
After creating his masterpiece, He was so surprised and pleased
That God forgot to add kindness To your pretty little heart.
In this world, You cannot set a destination; As
soon as you reach one, Another appears on the
horizon.
