Oriya Fiction Writer, Poet, and Scholar Born: October 28, 1942 in Puri, Orissa Address: With a Doctorate in English and American Literature, Ganeshwar Mishra is an outstanding figure in Commonwealth Literature and Language Studies. His major research works in English have dealt with aspects of translation, Indian and Commonwealth literature. His Oriya literary treasure includes novels, features, translations, travelogues, book reviews and collections of poems. His research articles have been published in the Encyclopedia of Indian Literature, New Delhi; Breaking the Circle, Coventry, 1992 Important English and Oriya publications include : Voices Against the Stone - Oriya fiction(English); An Indian in Sri Lanka (travelogue in English); 'Samudrika' (novel in Oriya); 'Canterbury Kahani' (travelogue in Oriya); 'Andhara' (collection of short stories in Oriya).
