The Path of History

The way the supple morning rays
Toddle on the extensive fields,
Your touches prevail, poet,
Around us all the time in our hearts.

With an engulfing thirst like the fire in a jungle,
You wanted the liberation of man, of fatherland,
Whom can you fulfil and how much
How far is one to walk to see the blazing embers of your heart?

We don't know, so we try to touch
By your heart and with your love,
The excruciating pains of the oppressed
In Asia, Africa and all over the world.
We watch how in fiery flamings
Your curly hair curl
Like a burnt paper.
Our tongues blaze, the marrow of our bones burns out.
The sounds that had poured music on us so long
Are now the volleys of guns , wails of panic
And birds of life fleet away in flight;

How far will they move smouldering
Combating , time and again
Till their wings burn to cinder?
On how long a path of human history.
