We are presenting below brief synopses of the monthly ‘Dialogue’ meetings held over the years 2000-2003.

April 2000
The ‘Dialogue’ for the month coincided with the First SAARC Writers Conference which was held from
April 28-30, 2000.
During the Conference, several profound research papers were presented by more than fifty writers from all over the seven SAARC countries.On all the three afternoon / evening sessions, eminent poets from all the seven countries read their poems, and these were followed by interactive discussions.

May 2000
May is the only month in the year when ‘Dialogue’ is not held. In fact, all cultural activities in the Capital are usually suspended during the hot summer months.


June 2000
On 24 June, ‘Dialogue’ was presided over by Kamleshwar, eminent Hindi writer and Chief Editor of Daily Bhaskar.
Kamleshwar read out a portion of his novel, which voiced a collective concern for peaceful co-existence.
Mohanjeet read his Punjabi poems, Anamika and Indu Jain read their Hindi poems, Supta Mathai read her English poems while Aboriginal Eskimo poetry was presented in Hindi translation by Suresh Salil.

July 2000

The literary meet ‘Dialogue’ was held on July 29. Rajendra Yadav presided over the meet. Well-known Hindi poets Ashok Vajpeyi, Manglesh Dabral and Vishnu Nagar recited their poems. The noted Hindi novelist Asghar Wajahat read out a chapter form his new (yet untitled) novel. Renowned Kannada poet and editor of ‘Indian Literature’ Dr. H.S. Shiva Prakash recited his Kannada poems and their English translations.
